1759 Vought House: A Loyalist Homestead in Revolutionary Hunterdon County

This free lecture will cover the fascinating story of the Vought family from their arrival in the colony of New Jersey in 1710 through their activities during the American Revolution and their fate after the war. We'll also delve into some of our recent restoration projects and findings from an archaeological investigation in the cellar of the building. The Vought House, built in 1759 by Christoffel Vought, is on the National Register of Historic Places for its connection to events of the American Revolution and its architectural significance.
